Now here's a bit of irony for you: When I read the book, I was a bratty teenager like one of the two main characters in this book. Just don't finish reading it in class, around your friends, because you're going to end up blubbering like a baby! That is, unless you're a soulless monster! But I got the general gist of it, and this I know: Read it yourself, you'll be glad you did! Loved this book, but today, what, 35+ years later.? I'm sure I have most of the details wrong.It's the end of the world as the 80s knew it and they feel.apocalyptic Listen as Elton gets to know 'Mister Touch' and his rough band of New Yorkers. Spoiler alert! I cried my obnoxious, smart-ass teenage eyes out. And then, by the end.? Well, I won't tell you. Kid gets caught by an old man while crossing the old guy's yard, trespassing and generally causing trouble. Read this one, I dunno, around 1982 or 1983, maybe.
